Plotting our Escape

on February 14, 2014

So it’s day 2 of cage rest for Chunk and he’s not as out of it as he was yesterday which means he’s pretty upset today.  He’s been plotting his escape all afternoon.  He’s tried chewing through his blankets (I fear he’s making a rope out of them), clawing at the bottom of the cage in a desperate tunnel maneuver, and the “let me sing you the song of my people” ploy.   The latter has been the most convincing.  I feel bad because today is his 6 month birthday and the poor guy is locked up.

Then....

Then….

and now!

I on the other hand am wishing the snow would let up.  I’d like to just get out of the house, but it’s the kind of snow that makes me uneasy driving.  I’m trying to keep myself distracted yet again.  I already made a Valentine’s Day chex mix but wanted to make a raspberry chocolate banana bread when I realized I don’t have any plain yogurt which means I’m going to have to wing it with sour cream as I’m not leaving the house.

yum

nom nom nom!

We’re only 2 days into injections and I’m already hating it.  Yesterday wasn’t bad.  I ended up with a horrible stomach ache and refused to eat dinner which I don’t know if it’s a side effect or not. Today’s shot wasn’t as smooth.  I think it’s because the hubs went about an inch higher than yesterday.  He laughs because when he pinches my inch(es) (lol) and tries to distract me by moving the skin, I sing “wiggle wiggle wiggle yea!” until I feel the needle at which point I just make a massive frowny face.

wiggle

So today, no stomach ache today, just super tired.  Dreading waking up at 6:30 on the weekends to keep at it, but I guess you’ve got to keep the goal in mind as some of the ladies have shared with me.

  2. I just love Chunk.. no, like seriously.. he’s such a good looking bulldog and what an adorable puppy he was! I love the Valentine’s Day chex mix too! It looks yummy! You’ve got this. You can do the injections. It will all be worth it. Hugs and praying you have strength through all of this.
