Officially Pregnant

Our infertility, miscarriage, IVF, and pregnancy journey x 2 (still waiting on pregnancy #2)

Best Visit Yet (with lots of pics!)

on July 2, 2014

I’m not going to make you wait it out for the gender, it’s a BOY!  There is NO denying what we saw!  We had our NT scan yesterday and baby is healthy.  We opted out for blood work originally saying that we’d love the bub no matter what, but for peace of mind and preparation we decided to go for it yesterday.  We’ll find out our risk level soon.  Tried to get all the parts in there, but babe wouldn’t let us see his face.  Apparently upside down and facing my rear sounded like a good idea yesterday

How far along? 18 weeks 5 days

Days til due date: 148

Size of baby? About 5 ½ ” from head to toe, weighs 9 ounces according to our doctor

Total weight gain? About 9.  It’s coming and going pretty frequently…

Maternity clothes: Nothing that is straight up maternity, however, I’m starting to look into more options though.  With not having to work it’s been nice to wear yoga pants and tees, but even those can look silly now.

Sleep: Starting to wake up on my back which they say you shouldn’t sleep like that for long.  Lots more potty breaks.  I thought that was supposed to subside the 2nd trimester?

Stretch marks: Nada

Best moment this week: Finding out what our little bugger is and buying lots of fun baby things.  I splurged and bought 3 onesies, a door muffler, a don’t ring the damn doorbell sign, a towel apron for bath time, an udder cover (almost free), a nursing pillow (almost free), and a 5 piece car seat set (should’ve been almost free, but upgraded for winter baby and spent $42 instead of $145).

Miss anything? Miss my energy level more than anything.  Not being able to drink at a bachelorette party was no fun either but at least there was another preggo with me.

Movement:  Little itty bitty flutters – more at night when I lay down

Food cravings: Chocolate.  Lots of chocolate.

Anything making you feel queasy or sick: Think I’ve finally bounced back from the aversions.  Still getting sick here and there, but not to the extreme it was.

Showing? Same.  Yes. I’m able to hid it around people I don’t know, but am able to show it off around people that do know

19 weeks

Gender: It’s a BOY!!!!

Labor signs: Too soon, but at my next appointment they check for preterm labor.

Symptoms:  Hit or miss.  There are so many it’s not worth listing them anymore.

Belly button in or out?  Innie

Wedding ring on or off? On, but the summer heat isn’t helping

Happy or moody most of the time: Moody lately.  Doesn’t take much to aggravate me these days.

Looking forward to: Getting all the fun stuff I ordered for baby boy!

Baby business being taken care of: Nursery colors (navy and chartreuse if you haven’t already inferred that…) have been picked out, updating our registry, and reading two books I picked up from the library-What to Expect and Bringing up Bebe – I’m still waiting on Sh*tty Mom and Babyproofing Your Marriage.

What’s Going on with Baby:  Baby boy can flex his legs and arms, flashing his junk, and his ears are where they’re supposed to be.
