When disappointment knocks you on your ass

on September 22, 2015

Showed up for our transfer today on a very full bladder. The nurse was impressed. Talk to the embryologist who was not impressed with the two blastocysts he chose out of the 9. Turns out all 9 were “eh”. We will probably have nothing to freeze. The dr also expressed his concern with the quality of the embryos. I’m heartbroken but trying to stay positive. That’s all for now. Beta on the 1st.

  1. I’m so sorry. We often get so caught up in the numbers game that we forget quality is just as important. I hope your RE has some answers for you… but more than anything, I hope these 2 surprise the embryologist and turn into beautiful babies. Do you know how they graded them?

BB is good! It really is about the genetics at this point to. Glad they waited until day 5. We transfered two 6AA embryos back in may and ended with a chemical, meaning that even the most perfect looking ones aren’t the genetically normal ones. Fingers are crossed for you!

Thank you so much. It’s amazing how this all works. I keep talking to the two of them just like last time. Plus I’m sure they just dug the nap my body apparently wanted. We just got all warm and cozy up in here.

  3. One of my best friends did several rounds and used all her top rated embryos and none of them took — her last FET was with a C-rated blast and now she has a beautiful 2 year old! I know it’s hard, but try not to worry! Fingers crossed for you during the TWW!

  4. There’s definitely hope, fingers crossed!

This sucks! I wish I could say something to lift your spirit. Take care of yourself and remember that anything can happen.
